UTK vs. UTC Basketball: December 4

It's not often that we get to come together as alumni and root for two teams at once, so here's hoping everyone will join us Tuesday, December 4 at 7PM to cheer on the Vols and the Mocs. For once, UT can't lose! We'll be gathering at Bailey's in Crystal City. Drink specials include $2.50 pints and $4 Stoli drinks.

Get out your orange and white and gold and blue and get to the bar! Directions are available on the football game watching page.

If you are the UT alumni group represening all campuses, why is your logo ORANGE? That represents Knoxville only.

Actually, Knoxville and Martin share the color orange, while Martin and Chattanooga share the color blue. That's why the logo is primarily those two colors. Gold has been added in a couple of places on the Google Group and Web site as a nod to Chattanooga as well.

You may not be aware, but we've recently changed our entire Web site and URL to make sure the other campuses are adequately represented. Previously, everything for the chapter fell under dcvols.com, but we now have utdcalumni.com.

The chapter has been trying to reach out to other campuses for some time now, but we can't seem to get UTC and UTM folks involved. Bill Hundley, UTC grad, has joined the board this year as an at-large member, and Ray Pollard participates on the steering committee on behalf of UTM. We are so proud to have them both!

We would LOVE to have more campuses involved in events like the Freshman Picnic, where new students from all campuses are welcomed. This past summer we hosted the president of the entire UT system and invited all local alumni. Hopefully, we'll start to see more Mocs and Skyhawks at events. The more of you that show up the greater your presence in the chapter.

If you're interested in talking more about events you'd be interested in as a UTC alumni, please contact me. I worked with Jade Stone to set up this game watching party, and I'd like to do other things, so shoot me an e-mail and we can talk more.
